Notes:
this growing sect called Christianity and completely reinterpreted the life,
message, and mission of Jesus. This original group of Gnostics then disappeared
without a trace until the middle of the second century. Yet somehow, Paul,
a prolific writer about Jesus and the church, never made mention of these
"original Gnostic believers." The Gnostic argument is not serious history;
it is a piece of fiction that cannot be substantiated.
If any historical person was in a position to identify what the
original faith of the church was and what the original founders
believed about Jesus, it was Paul. Paul said that what he preached was
what these original founders preached (1 Corinthians 15:11).
