The Solemnity of the Apostles Peter and Paul - 28th June 2026
Today we honour the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, apostles whose witness anchors the Church in faith, hope, and love. Peter, the fisherman who became the rock upon which Christ built His Church, stands as a witness to repentance, humility, and steadfast leadership; Paul, the persecutor turned missionary, proclaims the breadth and universality of the Gospel, urging all to faith in Christ and to a life shaped by grace. Together they illustrate the twofold richness of salvation: Saint Peter’s intimate communion with the Lord and oversight of the early Christian communities, and Saint Paul’s tireless mission to bring the Gospel to the gentiles, illuminating how the Spirit unites diverse peoples into one body. As we celebrate these saints, we are reminded that our baptism binds us to this apostolic mission, and that the Church’s unity rests on fidelity to Christ, repentance when we err, and a courageous witness to the truth.
May their intercession strengthen our devotion to Christ and our commitment to His Church. Let us imitate Saint Peter’s humility in accepting our vocations, and Saint Paul’s zeal in bearing the light of the Gospel to all we meet, especially those who have never yet heard the saving message of Our Lord. May our parish life be marked by faithful teaching, sincere catechesis, and merciful service, so that we may all grow in friendship with the Lord. May our celebrations of the Sacraments deepen our union with Christ and with one another, and may we be instruments of unity and reconciliation, bringing healing where there is division and hope where there is despair. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church, and all the saints, may God bless you and your loved ones this Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
Father Victor
