THE FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
- 15th June 2025
Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ,
As we gather to celebrate the blessed Trinity, we are called to deepen our understanding of this central mystery of our faith: the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This Sunday’s liturgy invites us to contemplate the profound unity and love that exists within the Godhead, and how this divine communion flows into our lives, calling us into relationship with the one God who is love itself.
In the first reading given to us at this Sunday’s Mass, from Proverbs, we hear of Wisdom’s divine presence, a reflection of the eternal wisdom of God that was with Him from the beginning. The psalm response echoes this theme of divine glory and kingship, proclaiming God's reign over all creation.
Our second reading from 2 Corinthians reminds us that the love of Christ compels us, and that through the Spirit, we are reconciled to God and called to be ambassadors of His grace.
Our Gospel from Luke then presents Jesus’ final words to His disciples, commissioning them to go forth and baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. This solemn command underscores the Trinitarian foundation of our Christian life and mission.
So as we reflect on these readings, let us open our hearts to the mystery of the Holy Trinity. May the love and unity of God inspire us to live ourselves in harmony, to serve others faithfully, and to witness to the divine life that dwells within each of us through the Spirit. Amen.
With every blessing in Christ,
Father Victor Bullock
