THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER - 11th May 2025

Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, we gather joyfully as the Church to celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Easter, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday.

In this sacred liturgy, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, lovingly guides and cares for His flock. As the Good Shepherd, He willingly lays down His life for His sheep, demonstrating the infinite mercy and sacrificial love that defines His mission. Through the psalmist’s voice, we are reminded that the Lord is our shepherd; we shall not want.

The Gospel reading from John (10:1-10) invites us to contemplate the tender and vigilant care of Christ, who calls each of us by name and leads us to abundant life. Today’s celebration calls us to deepen our trust in the Good Shepherd, to follow Him faithfully, and to imitate His love for others. As members of His flock, let us listen attentively to His voice, heed His call, and renew our commitment to live as faithful disciples, trusting in His eternal guidance and mercy.

May the Holy Eucharist ever strengthen us to walk in the footsteps of Christ, our Shepherd and Saviour.

Father Victor
