The Sixth Sunday of Easter - 10th May 2026
My dear Brothers and Sisters,
Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
He is Risen indeed! Alleluia!
From Father Victor
The Church invites us to abide in the love of Christ and to allow that love to transform every aspect of our lives. In this Sunday’s Gospel (John 14:15-21), Our Lord promises the gift of the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, who will remain with us and within us, teaching us His truth, guiding our choices, and bringing to fullness the communion we share with the Father through the Son. He frames this intimate relationship in terms of obedience and love: if we love Him, we will keep His commandments, and in keeping them, He and the Father will come to dwell with us. This means that Christian life is not a distant ideal but a living participation in the life of the Trinity, a daily cultivation of prayer, fidelity, and courageous witness to the Gospel in our families, parishes, and wider communities.
So may this continuing season of Eastertide deepen our awareness of the Spirit’s abiding presence and empower us to live as faithful friends of Christ. Let us strive to love with His love, to serve with His compassion, and to witness with His truth, especially to those who feel distant or divided from the Church. May our prayer be filled with gratitude for the Spirit’s gifts—wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord—and may our lives reflect the unity He fosters among believers. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church, and all the saints, may God continue to bless you and your loved ones.
